Welcome to http://stmaryspriorychoir.org

.

We are the church choir of St Mary’s Priory Church, Abergavenny  (the church is part of the Church in Wales, within the Anglican communion).
The choir consists of about eighteen children and sixteen adults, and has a commitment to leading the worship at the morning and evening services week by week, as well as a number of occasional special services throughout the year.
The church dates back to medieval times, and contains many beautiful artefacts including the famous “Jesse Tree”.
For “behind the scenes” glimpses of choir life, visit our blog – http://stmaryspriorychoir.wordpress.com/

The choir rehearses on Friday evenings from 5.30 to 7.00 pm; with a weekly choral service afterwards at 7.00 pm. (see Forthcoming Events section).
Each year the choir undertakes a “Singing Week” tour, which in 2025, saw us recording a CD in Tenbury Wells and Llansantffraed-Juxta-Usk as well as singing services in Brecon Cathedral.
In 2026 we will be choir in residence” at Hereford Cathedral for a week in August.
